Remembering Olivia

I can remember visiting you with my Mother. You were one of her favorite cousins and the mother of one of my favorite cousins. I enjoyed seeing your home with piles of books everywhere. I remember asking you incredulously, “Did you read ALL these books?” “Yes”, you laughed. I was amazed. Impressed. I loved to read and you became a heroine. The years passed and I didn’t see you much anymore. Mom would visit and send back the report. Her love for you evident through the years. More time passed. And now like the time you have also passed, and crossed over. Your legacy stamped indelibly in the minds of your son and grandchildren. It is my prayer that the ancestors welcome you with open arms. Arms open as wide as the pages of the books you so loved. You will be missed, cousin Olivia.  Rest in infinite peace.
